That’s a Wrap for 2025

The year 2025 has been a wild ride and somehow I end the year similar to how I began, in the midst of deadline. But in between all that I worked on several fun projects that I hope to share in 2026, one that will start appearing on my Patreon once I get this book turned in.

I also started seriously working on my short story craft. As someone who doesn’t blink at writing hefty tomes, writing shorter is more of a challenge for me. Throughout 2025 I’ve used open calls for short stories as a motivation, using their deadlines to encourage me to get a story done. One of my goals going into 2026 is to submit more stories throughout as much as possible.

Books that were on my nightstand

I tend to read anything that catches my eye, and while my sweet spot will always be SFF, my reading habits are driven by whim.

Here just a portion of what I read in 2025 for fun, to pass the time, for research, or simply to keep me company on long trips, in a mix of print, ebook, and audio.

The Game I have Been Waiting For

Sequels are hard, especially when the predecessor oozes with charm, but I love a sequel that takes risks and big swings. Hades 2 is bigger, bolder, and in some places better than Hades. I love playing a witchy character and how the game play neatly included magic. There’s enough familiar faces and mechanics to know Hades 2 is a true sequel, but a few new things to have it’s own identity. Because the novelty has worn off, more critical voices will say it doesn’t quite meet the highs of Hades, but I enjoyed another dive into the underworld.

The hours you put into into to the lush world of Hades 2 make it worth buying at full price, but if and when it goes on sale you have no excuse to snatch it up!

Some Favorite Memories From My Camera Roll

2025 is the year I the hit road! I’ve had a number of adventures this year and here are some of my highlights of the places I’ve ventured, some for the first time.

Where You Might Have Seen Me IRL

I went to a number of places in 2025 to meet other readers, authors, and people who just simply love books! Some of these I will repeat in 2026, but there may be some new additions……

Onward to 2026!

The Starseekers

Head to the 1960s for a Hidden Figures meets Indiana Jones historical fantasy. Cynthia Rhodes is a arcane engineer at NASA, who also co-hosts a magical education show with archaeologist Theo Danner. A series of strange accidents at NASA, and elsewhere, put them on the trail of a mystery that entangles them in both peril and murder most foul.
